Class P1/2/3

Welcome to P1/2/3

Our teacher is Mrs Chambers

This term our work will be based on the Book the Enormous Crocodile by Road Dahl.

Last term our big question is  –
Why do people live in Craigellachie and the surrounding areas.?

This term we are writing about Jack and the Beanstalk.

We planted some beans in pots. The pots had rocks at the bottom and we put compost on top. Katherine (P1) decided she would sing to her beanstalk to make it grow and it grew! So we all decided to sing to ours too. We also watered our beanstalks every three days and we sat them on the windowsill. We have found out that beans grow when you water them, put them in the light and sing to them!!!

All our beanstalks are at home and we are bringing them back on 28th March. Then we will measure everybody’s beanstalk and see which one is the tallest. We will win a prize. Our teacher has not told us what the prize will be. It is a secret prize.

Latest News- We all measured our own beanstalks on Tuesday 28th March.

  • Taylor Smith and Isobel Pennington were third with 87 cm.
  • Ailee Greig was second with 1 metre
  • Calum Willox was first with a  height of 1 metre 1 cm. He won a book called Jack and the Beanstalk.

In ICT/Computing we used Excel to make Pixel Art. We took a screenshot using snipping tool and put our art on the wall. We were breaking down an activity into steps (algorithm). We drew a picture showing how we make our breakfast in a series of steps.
We ahve also been thinking about what devices work with a computer e.g. a beebot, PS3, X box etc…
