In order to promote Health and Wellbeing we take learning outdoors and take advantage of the beautiful area we live in. We are developing learning outdoors in literacy and numeracy.
We work in close partnership with a range of outside agencies including Bike Revolution.
We now have the ‘Go Mountain Biking Scheme’ for Primary 6 and 7 that focuses not only on the physical wellbeing of our pupils but also on the social and emotional. As part of this course pupils attend a First Aid course and learn about basic navigation. For the first time this year, to promote team work, a bike building workshops was held as part of transition.
At the end of Primary 7, pupils move onto their secondary education. Throughout Primary 7 there are team building events held with pupils from Tomintoul, Glenlivet, Inveravon and Knockando. These events range from team games, bike building and motivational talks – all with outside agencies such as Outfit Moray and Bike Revolution.
Other year groups can also have the opportunity to work with bikes (see photo).
